Dear Janet, I consider myself lucky to be one who knew your father well and completely understood why my parents were so fond of him and your mother. As I thought about his passing it dawned on me what a positive influence he had been and how strong he was in his faith. I would dare anyone to find fault with the character of Ed Curtis ! One could ponder all day and not be able to criticize him. We should all aspire to live our lives as he did and leave the positive examples & impressions he has left us. What a wonderful man he was! I'm very thankful I got to speak with him on the phone a couple of times last year during the service planning for my parents and I'll always remember our brief time after their service at First United Methodist last May. I wish I was as honorable and devout as he was. I admired him and I'm glad he was a part of my life. I know how you feel right now so remember that I am thinking of you and Miss Faye and I hope you find some comfort in a quote that I saw not long ago which said " There is no real death,,,,it is only (the soul ) passing into the next life." That life , for us believers anyway, is far superior to the one we know now. As we are taught,,,,,Death, where is thy sting? There is none - only sadness for awhile until we meet again. I loved your dad, Janet. I will miss him too.
