Ordering flowers from our site ensures that your order will reach us or the family in a timely manner, and your gesture of support will remain acknowledged in the Book of Memories™ for future generations. We only work with local florists so we can maintain the sense of urgency and quality of your selections. We thank you for helping to support the family during their time of need, and will fondly remember your kind gesture.
We respect the sensitivity and dignity that comes with ordering tribute gifts from the funeral home. It is for this reason that we have attempted to design our online Sympathy Store with the utmost respect to the family and the deceased. We hope you find this service helpful during your time of need and would welcome any comments or suggestions you might have to help us serve our communities better.
Condolence: Dear Janet, I consider myself lucky to be one who knew your father well and completely understood why my parents were so fond of him and your mother. As I thought about his passing it dawned on me what a positive influence he had been and how strong he was in his faith. I would dare anyone to find fault with the character of Ed Curtis ! One could ponder all day and not be able to criticize him. We should all aspire to live our lives as he did and leave the positive examples & impressions he has left us. What a wonderful man he was! I'm very thankful I got to speak with him on the phone a couple of times last year during the service planning for my parents and I'll always remember our brief time after their service at First United Methodist last May. I wish I was as honorable and devout as he was. I admired him and I'm glad he was a part of my life. I know how you feel right now so remember that I am thinking of you and Miss Faye and I hope you find some comfort in a quote that I saw not long ago which said " There is no real death,,,,it is only (the soul ) passing into the next life." That life , for us believers anyway, is far superior to the one we know now. As we are taught,,,,,Death, where is thy sting? There is none - only sadness for awhile until we meet again. I loved your dad, Janet. I will miss him too.
Condolence: Janet and Family,
I have known Ed since 1965 when I came to MSU as a transfer student and Ed was the young Wesley Director. He guided, prodded, encouraged and prayed us through the troubled late 60's. When I would say, "Ed, I don't think I can do this", he simply said, "probably not without God's help."
Ed displayed integrity; intelligence; compassion; devotion to God, his family and to his work. A gentle giant of a man of God in heart. I stayed in contact over the years through cards, letters, and an occasional visit while back on campus. When we retired to Starkville what a delight to renew the mentorship he always showed as well as a treasured friendship. The best thing that could be said of anyone is surely true of Ed. The Life Ed Lived was one of the best sermons one could hear preached. There is a hole in the hearts of those who loved him that can only be filled with the peace we know he has now. God must truly say, "well done, thy good and faithful servant." Love you Ed, Pat
