With much sorrow we announce the passing of our dearly loved Annie Louise McCollum (Smith). She passed away peacefully on February 5, 2024, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabama surrounded by her loved ones. She was 78 years old and born May 12, 1945 in Steens, MS to John Seller Smith and Flornie Pearl Smith.
She was married for 48 years to her late husband, Billy Roy McCollum and they lived in Starkville, MS.

She was a wonderful mom to her two daughters, Leslie McCollum and Laura Clark (Kevin). She was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Shannon Gillentine (Justin), Hunter Clark, Brittany Pate (Cody), and Avery Clark. She was raised alongside five siblings, J.C. Smith, L.D. Smith, Jack Smith, Stennis Smith, and Helen Henderson.

She enjoyed dancing, giving to others, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her life was anchored in her family and her legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts and minds of those fortunate to know her. Her kindness, integrity and devotion to her family and friends will be forever cherished.

Memorial services will be held at Welch Funeral Home on Sunday, February 11, 2024. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with the services immediately following.
