Dot Gazaway Dawkins 85 passed away March 30, 2018 at the OCH Regional Medical Center Starkville. Dot was a loving wife, mother and grand mother and a member of the New Life Worship Center.


Dot was preceded in death by her Husband Frank Dawkins, her parents Bennie and Vada Gazaway; sister, Pearllie Ballard; and brothers, Lavelle Shank, Edward Gazaway, Cortez Gazaway, Thomas Gazaway, Bennie E. Gazaway, Jr., and William Gazaway.

She is survived by daughter, Hilda Morris (Eddie) of Starkville; son, Matthew Dawkins (Denise) of Houston, TX; sister, Daisy Gourch of Goshen, Indiana; brothers Walter Gazaway of Sturgis, George Gazaway of Sturgis, 4 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Monday April 2, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, with the funeral service on Tuesday April 3, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Welch Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Winston County. The Rev. Donnie Davis will conduct the service.
