Condolence: I was so sad to hear about this. I was her student teacher in 1977 and absolutely adored her from that moment on. She had such a full spirit, brilliant and creative. Beautiful lady. My friend.

Condolence: Mrs. Haynes was my all-time favorite teacher, and although we lost contact when she moved back to Starkville in 1968, I am glad that we reconnected in 2014. She was a wonderful friend, and I will never forget her. I will forever be grateful for her influence on my life. Thank you, Carmen.

Condolence: Jack, Myra, Doss and all your family, Blessings as you grieve the earthly loss of a very special lady, mother and grandmother, but celebrate a life well lived. I was not privileged to know her personally, but knew her by her good reputation in the community and from many mutual friends. Starkville will miss her. Prayers from Vic and Jane Zitta

Condolence From: Danny Lindsey
Condolence: Randy and Jack, I loved your mom for 52 years, beginning when she was my teacher, advisor, Sunday School teacher and youth choir director in Collins. She was, even then, one of my closest friends. Thanks to Facebook I was able to reconnect with her a few years ago, and reestablish our friendship. She provided the stimulus that has now made me write the books I always wanted to write, and she faithfully read each one -- and didn't even correct my grammar. I'll miss her, as you will. She was one of the most important influences in my life.

Condolence: My deepest sympathy to the entire family. Carmen was a beautiful woman, inside and out, and she and Bo were good friends of my parents, Esther and Buddy Goodman. They so appreciated her keeping in touch with them after their move from Starkville to Las Vegas. I already miss her newsy letters about goings on around town and about the Bulldogs.
