Condolences

Condolence From: Roger Clifford Clapp
Condolence: Although my college sweetheart and wonderful wife of 56 years succumbed to Parkinson's disease in July and cannot join me in sadly observing this anniversary, I feel compelled to again celebrate Rodney Foil's life and, on behalf of my father, who was one of his biggest admirers, wish comfort for the family and others as they adjust to another year without Dean Foil. His legacy continues.

Condolence: Rosalind and family, We were so very sorry to learn of Rodney's passing. He was very special to us. I admired him greatly and will always be thankful that we could be colleagues. I also loved him dearly as a friend. Please know that you are and will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Our faith tells us that, while we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his birthday in Heaven. The Lord had to be very proud to welcome such a wonderful person home.

Condolence: One of Dad’s proudest achievements as the first Dean of the School of Forestry at his beloved Mississippi State was persuading Dr. Foil to take the reigns and guide a transition that made retirement and eventual Dean Emeritus status rewarding. The Clapp Family is honored to add a final salute to such a fine public servant and true gentleman. —R.C.C.

Condolence: As I know you are, I am greatly saddened by the loss of Dr. Rodney Foil. He was a man of great compassion and caring! Although quiet and humble, he was a man of great depth who was blessed with intelligence and curiosity, a desire to help fix whatever needed to be fixed, and a warm sense of humor that made him a joy to engage. I greatly appreciate the impact that he has had on me. Ros, may God's peace be with you and all the family!
