Obituary for Steven Randolph Henderson

Steven Randolph Henderson, age 67, lost his battle with cancer on Saturday November 11, 2017 at his home in Wetumpka, AL. He was born in Starkville, MS to Robert and Frances (Thrasher) Henderson. Immediately following graduation from high school, Steve enlisted in the Marine Corp and served in the Vietnam War where his bravery earned him a Purple Heart. After four years of service in the Marines, he served 20 years in the U.S. Army and retired honorably as First Sergeant.
Steve was a brave and loyal soldier, as well as a kind and loving husband, father and brother. He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Debra (Presley) Henderson; his children Nicole Tetrault and son-in-law James, Maxie Henderson and daughter-in-law Heather; his grandchildren Isabella, Bryce, and Genevieve; his siblings Leon Henderson, Martha Winston, and Fay Kirk. Steve is preceded by siblings Glenda Henderson, Doris Lomen, and Johnny Henderson.
Visitation will take place at Welch Funeral Home on Saturday November 25th at 10:00am with memorial service to follow at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Steve’s memory to St. Jude,
