Obituary for Michael Wesley Thomas

Michael Wesley Thomas, 69, passed away on September 3, 2017 at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville, MS. He was a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in veterinary medicine and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps. After private practice in Florida he did a post-graduate residency at Texas A & M where he became a board certified veterinary radiologist. He was a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association, and a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology. After appointments at several other veterinary schools he finished his teaching career as a professor at the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Mike was an excellent teacher and took a keen interest in students. After retirement from MSU he worked as a private consultant with Antech Imaging. Mike was an avid photographer and hunter.

He is survived by his sister, Gwendy Thomas; and nephews, Michael Sprayberry and Alex Sprayberry, all of Anniston, AL.

There will be a private graveside at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Anniston, AL at a later date.
