Billy Roy Malone, 77, passed away on August 23, 2017 at his residence in Sturgis, MS. He was retired with the U.S. Air Force and also retired from the Ackerman Post Office after 12 years. He was a member of Sturgis Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, usher, and deacon for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Eunice Malone; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtis Richards Malone of Sturgis, MS; daughter, Emily Oglesby of Sturgis, MS; brother, Doyle Malone (Margie) of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Hope Hunt (Cody) and Ben Oglesby (Bethany); and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Sturgis Baptist Church in Sturgis, MS. Rev. Russell Mord will conduct the service. Burial will be in Wake Forest Cemetery in Sturgis.
