Obituary for Michael Jason Campbell

Michael Jason Campbell 41 of Sturgis, MS passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017.
Born January 2, 1976 in Dallas, TX he was the son of Linda Chastain (Bill) White of Indianola, OK and Michael Kent Campbell of Farmington, NM.

Michael was an Army Ranger in the 82nd Airborne Division and an Iraq and Afghanistan combat veteran. His decoration and citations include Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Expert Marksmanship Badge with Rifle Bar, Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, Bronze German Armed Forces Parachutist Badge. He was instrumental in the creation of Student Veterans of America (SVA) and was an advocate for all veterans. He was a self-employed Land Manager, Registered Forester, and Certified Pipefitter and Welder.

Surviving Michael include his wife, Ryann S. Campbell of Sturgis, MS; mother Linda White and husband Bill of Indianola, OK; father, Michael Kent Campbell of Farmington, NM; sister Kari Nichole Campbell Garrett and husband John of Buckhead, GA; stepbrother, Jeremy Owen White of McAlester, OK, stepsister Jessica White of Krebs, OK, maternal grandmother, Loise Chastain of Charleston, AR.

A memorial service for Michael will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS.
