Betty Wilburn Lewis, 78, passed away on March, 10, 2017 at Starkville Manor Nursing Home in Starkvillle, MS. She was a retired clerk with Oktibbeha County Tax Assessors Office and a member of Adaton Baptist Church. She loved her flowers, feeding and watching the birds and reading. She was also a member of the Starkville Chapter of Rebekah Lodge of Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rafe Wilburn and Ophelia Akin Wilburn; husband, Carl D. Lewis; and son, Chuck Lewis, Sisters Gladys Booth, Betty Lee Wilson, Brothers L. C. Wilburn, James Wilburn, Robert Wilburn, Jerry Wilburn.

She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Thompson (Donald) of Starkville, MS and Carla Phillips (Ronnie) of Nashville, TN; son, Curtis D. Lewis of West Point, MS; sisters, Dean Bishop and Sue Thompson, both of Columbus, MS; grandchildren, Ryan Thompson, Austin Phillips, Gregg Lewis, Barry Lewis, Kevin Lewis, and Sara Lewis Burwell; 7 great grandchildren. She enjoyed a special relationship with grandsons, Ryan, Austin, son-in law Donald Thompson and niece Cappe Hallberg

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday March 14, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 with the Memorial service following at 2:00 at Welch Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Hal Selby will conduct the service, burial will follow in the Adaton Baptist Church Cemetery .


Memorial donations may be made to Adaton Baptist Church or American Cancer Society.
