Missie Kaye ThamesTalbot, 54, of Starkville,MS, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, August 1, 2016. A native of Starkville,MS, Missie graduated from Tupelo High School and attended Mississippi State University, but lived most of her life in Starkville.

Missie was a loving, kind-hearted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She was always willing to help those in need. She smiled easily and never seemed to let things get her down. She loved to laugh and joke with family and friends, lightening serious situations. On any given day, you could find her watering her plants and watching the hummingbirds fly by. She was an avid Bulldog fan and enjoyed cheering for the Dawgs. She was one of a kind, a truly amazing person, who will be missed by many. Missie, a para-professional, was a beloved employee of T.E.Lott & Co. for 15 years. She loved her work, her co-workers, and her clients.

Missie is preceded in death by her father, George Tilton Thames, of Starkville,MS.

Missie is survived by her husband, Steve Talbot, and her three children, Jud Talbot, Stephanie Edwards (Scottie), Jacob Talbot, and her two grandchildren, Brett and Ava Edwards., all of Starkville, MS. She is also survived by her mother, Sallie Thames Whiteside and step-father, Bob Whiteside of Starkville, MS, her sister Tammie Thames Haynes (Ken) of Jackson, MS, and brother, Jason Thames, of Austin, TX., and many Talbot, Ruffin and Thames aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be at the First United Methodist Church, 200 West Lampkin Street, Starkville, MS, on Thursday, August 4, 2016, at 11 am and the internment at Memorial Garden Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 3, from 5-7 pm, at Welch Funeral Home, 201 West Lampkin Street, in Starkville. Visitation on Thursday, the 4th, will be at 10 am at First United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to the children's ministry of First United Methodist Church.
