Mrs. Mary Jane Rosser Vernon, 79, of Columbus, MS; passed away at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo on Wednesday, September 4, 2013.

She really loved her church and baking to raise money for youth and decorating at the church for Christmas.

Mary Jane is survived by her son, Donny Vernon (Janie) of Morristown, TN; daughters, Debby White (Carlos) of Starkville, MS; Patsy Harrison and Andy Anderson of Mayfield, KY, and Kathy Massey of Starkville, MS; 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. H. Vernon, Jr.; brother, Johnson
Rosser; and sisters, Mable Bryant, Frances Holley, and Lessie Fowler.

Visitation for Mrs. Vernon will be held at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Columbus on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 10-11 a.m. with the funeral service immediately following at the church conducted by Rev. Jimmy Banks and Scott Nichols. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Gholson, MS.
